  • Yield: Serves 2-4
  • Prep time: 5 minutes

I picked up some bold-colored blood oranges while shopping, knowing I would try to find the best recipe I could to utilize their intense color and gentle citrusy flavor

The best margarita recipe I could find was a super easy one, perfect for this not-too-frequent mixologist! When it was time to garnish, that’s when I really had fun – and so will you.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces tequila
  • 4 ounces blood orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 ounces cointreau
  • 6-8 ice cubes
  • Himalayan pink sea salt
  • Garnish

  • 1 blood orange, sliced thin and halved
  • 2 blood orange skins

Directions

Blend first 4 ingredients in a blender.

Run an orange slice around rim of each glass, and dip into pink sea salt.

Pour margaritas into glasses, and add slices of blood orange.

Garnish with peel curls from remaining blood oranges. (Check out these easy cocktail garnishes, or an easy citrus curl garnish.)
